Olive Press Santa Vitória
The Santa Vitória olive press, which opened in 2019, combines technology, innovation and high quality in order to obtain the best Alentejo regional olive oils. Set in the Figueirinha Estate, it consists of an olive reception yard, with a cleaning and washing line that can process 50 tonnes per hour; an extraction room, with an equipment that can grind up to 10 tons of olives per hour; a deposit room, which features 35 circular tanks with capacities between 5,000 and 30,000 liters; a bottling, capping and labeling line with a capacity for 1,200 bottles per hour and a tasting room and show cooking area.

As it is open to the public for visits, here you can learn more about the various process stages, get to know what distinguishes the different types of olive oil and take part in olive oil tastings. The venue is also fit for hosting groups, company events and showcooking demonstrations.
Some of the main olive varieties the Santa Vitória olive grove has across its 150 hectares, approximately, are Galega, Cobrançosa, Cordovil, Picual, Arbequina, Koroneiki and Arbosana. Thanks to modern production techniques and the technology of its installed equipment, the olive oil’s taste, high quality, nutritional richness and beneficial properties are guaranteed.
Besides modern technology and innovation, good environmental practices and sustainability are also matters of concern for Santa Vitória. For instance, in this press, the olive pits that result from the production are used as fuel to the water heating boiler. Wastewater, on the other hand, is sent to settling tanks and is later used for agricultural use.
